What Safety Services do we Offer?

Updated: Nov 1, 2022

For us here at DC Space and Storage Solutions safety is paramount because a life is not worth losing to an unqualified, uncertified, untrained racking company. Under our “Safe Home Everyday” scheme, which is at the heart of what we do, we ensure that the racking we install is as safe as possible for you and your employees. We are one of very few companies in the UK to have achieved such a numerous list of safety accreditations and offer these services.

We are proud to operate a team of SARI: SEMA approved racking inspectors

These inspections are an essential part of warehouse operation and we have the ability to provide them to a high standard because we have inspectors approved by the HSE as ‘competent people’. These inspections are a statutory compliance and insurance requirement as since 1998 business owners have a legal obligation to inspect work equipment that could be damaged. Damage to racking can be commercially disastrous and personally dangerous, so we are able to help you operate with due diligence by inspecting all aspects of your racking, every 12 months minimum. Having our racking inspectors SEMA approved demonstrates our commitment to safety and maintaining your racking to the highest standards. SEMA is the Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association, the trade body established in 1968 that represents the interests of the industry and shares best practice guidelines.

Racking Repairs

Damaged racking can lead to weakened structures and catastrophic accidents, so repairs as well as being a legal requirement, are essential to keep your warehouse at full capacity. If, during our SARI inspections, we find damaged racking, we are also qualified to offer repairs and restore the safety and efficiency of your warehouse. Regular reviews must be completed to ensure accidental damage does not become a serious danger. DC Space and Storage Solutions is committed to your safety, not only during but after installation.

During reviews one must inspect:

  • Front and Rear uprights

  • All horizontal and diagonal bracing

  • Base plates and floor fixings

  • Column guards

  • Frame spacers

  • Load notices

  • All nuts and bolts

  • All guide rails and shelf panels

  • All beams and columns

QuikSafe Rapid Repairs

We also offer our QuikSafe service, a repairs reporting process and Reactive Remedial Service that assists in the reporting and actioning of damage as and when required and helps us to help you as quickly as possible. Every company will have a version of QuikSafe specifically tailored to their racking and needs, so that we are able to pick up on racking damage and repair it efficiently and effectively. The scheme was initially designed for companies running multiple sites, to provide a central reporting point for damage, but can be used by any and all who use our racking systems. Using this service also ensures that all enquiries and damage are reported to within 24 hours of report.

Being Altius Assured, Safe Contractor Approved, a SEMA Approved Installation Company and a SEMA Approved Distributor, and having 3 ISO Accreditations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 9001), means you can rest assured that by choosing to work with DC you are putting safety at your core and working to the highest industry standards.
